Cashmere Montessori

Pebbles Montessori Cashmere opened in September 2015 and operates from a beautifully renovated villa at 26 Colombo Street, Cashmere. We are licensed for 37 children aged 3 months - 6 years and are open every day from 7.45am – 5.45pm, including school holidays.

We have 2 learning environments for our two different age groups. The Kea Room is for up to 15 tamariki aged 2 years and under, with our preferred teacher:child ratio of 1:4, 2:8 and 3:15. Our teachers are passionate about providing a safe and stimulating learning environment for every child.

The Tui Room is for up to 26 children aged 2-6 years with 3 teachers. Our preferred teacher:child ratio is 1:8. We embrace the Montessori philosophy as well as our early childhood curriculum Te Whāriki. Our teachers are early childhood trained or in training and are Montessori experienced. Our daily programme is a mixture of child led and teacher led, with at least one Montesssori work cycle every day. The inside and outside environments are prepared to ensure we offer every child a unique, Montessori experience which inspires a love of learning and upholds our vision: For tamariki to see themselves as competent and confident learners in an environment of peace, respect and collaboration.
