Pink Tower at it’s best!

The pink tower is part the Montessori sensorial area, this is where tamariki learn about precise wording and distinguish the difference between items e.g. size, height.

The pink tower is made up of 10 individual cubes, the biggest one is; 10x10cm  the next biggest is 9x9cm, the next is 8x8cm and so on until you reach the smallest one at 1x1cm.  So each cube is 1cm smaller then the pervious one.  The wonderful thing about our sensorial area is that the smallest block is the ‘control of error’, this is where the children can use the smallest block to check their work ensuring the blocks are in the correct order, creating them to have an increased level of independance.
